Texting Competition?

June 18, 2009

I now texting is the “IN” thing to do.  I’m just not very good at it. I text about as fast as I type, which isn’t very fast.  Not to add, half the time I’m not even sure what all those silly abbreviations are, or what I should be using.  Like I have said before, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Then there is people like the Iowa Teenager Wins $50,000 for texting. Now this chick can text!

Fifteen-year-old Kate Moore says the key to her success is “all in the thumbs.”

The Des Moines, Iowa, teenager is the new LG U.S. National Texting Champion. She won $50,000 for her speedy and accurate texting on Tuesday, beating out 20 other finalists from around the country.

Over two days, Moore outperformed other contestants at challenges like texting blindfolded and texting while maneuvering through a moving obstacle course.

In the final showdown, she beat 14-year-old Morgan Dynda of Savannah, Ga. Both girls had to text three lengthy phrases, without making any mistakes on abbreviations, capitalization or punctuation.

Every one of the contestants got one question wrong. The oldest was 22, but none of them knew that “PAW” is text-speak for “parents are watching.”

You need a phone with a keyboard! It’s so much easier!
